Damon Leibert first
picked up the fiddle in 1982. By age eleven Damon was playing traditional music
at dances with his father
Peter, a well respected dance-caller
and button-box (accordion) player. Growing up in Nova
Scotia and his father's music and dance have strongly
influenced his style. This, along with living in
Ireland, a deep involvement in Irish music, and a classical
degree in music were all great contributors to his unique,
energetic playing.
A
founding member of the
Johnny Come Latelies (1999-2005) Damon
has shared stages with some of the biggest names in Celtic
music. Having performed all over North America & Europe,
he has been involved in various Theatrical productions, film
scores, recordings, festivals, and innumerable concerts.

Based in
Boston since 1999, Damon has enjoyed making his living as
a fiddler player from the local to international stages.
In 2003 Damon started
Hemlock Ink with band mate Neal Cadogan.
Hemlock Ink provides screen printed custom apparel to many
musicians, artists and businesses and is strong supporter
of the local music scene. |

That
same, year Damon joined
Bluetone Studio as a partner assisting the recording
facility's major improvements. Damon's involvement
with both ventures continues to operate around his busy
music schedule.
In
his spare time he is looking for better means of
transportation. |
